What F2
actually means.

During a cook the control compares the chamber temperature with the profile. F2 is logged when the air falls too low and cannot recover. TurboChef lists a long set of reasons: lost power, too heavy a load, a dirty oven, an oven that was not fully warmed up, a defective heater, a blower that is not running and low supply voltage.

What to do when F2 shows on the pizza oven

Before you book,
in this order.

Each step comes from TurboChef's own guidance for F2 on its pizza ovens. Follow it to the end: the last card says whether this is a visit.

01

Take some product off the belt or rack and let the oven recover before loading it again.

02

Return the oven to the off mode, choose the cooking profile again and give it the full warm-up; on a Single Batch let it idle five more minutes once warm.

03

Do the daily cleaning and clear the air nozzles and jetplates, because blocked holes starve the chamber of hot air.

04

If F2 keeps coming back on a clean, lightly loaded oven, book a visit so the heater, the blower and the supply voltage can be measured.

Still there?

It usually turns into pizza oven thermostat and control repair. Book with the code and the model number.

What not to do

F2 is not the same as a cold oven at switch-on; a normal warm-up shows Warming, not a code. It also does not mean the temperature probe is broken, which TurboChef reports separately as F7.

Every code on this site is taken from the manufacturer's documentation, never from a forum or a parts listing. HhC conveyors (legacy controller) show F2: Low Temp During Cook. The Single Batch shows F2: Cook Temperature Low, and its Options screen has an F2 Bypass setting that logs F2 without ending the cook when set to YES.

Questions
about F2.

Can I clear F2 myself?
Take some product off the belt or rack and let the oven recover before loading it again. If it comes back, it needs a visit.
Why does my TurboChef conveyor show F2 only at the lunch peak?
A belt packed edge to edge pulls heat out faster than the heaters put it back, and the manual lists an excessive load as a cause. Space the pizzas out; if F2 still appears at normal loads, the heater or the supply voltage is next.
What is F2 Bypass on a TurboChef Single Batch?
It is a setting on the Options screen. With it set to YES the oven records the F2 event but finishes the cook; with it set to NO the cook stops when F2 is found.
Can low voltage in the building cause TurboChef F2?
Yes, the HhC manual lists low supply voltage and sends that one to an electrician. A technician can measure the voltage at the oven under load to confirm it before any part is changed.

Back to your everyday

Still showing F2?

A booking with a code goes further when it has the code copied as shown, the model and serial from the rating plate, and a note on whether the oven still lights, heats or moves its belt. With those three, the office can match the likely part to your oven the same day.
