What F6
actually means.

EC means electrical compartment. Small fans pull room air past the boards and relays, and F6 appears when that compartment runs hot. TurboChef points at paper towels or other items blocking the cooling air, clogged rear fan guards on the Single Batch, and cooling fans that have stopped.

What to do when F6 shows on the pizza oven

Before you book,
in this order.

Each step comes from TurboChef's own guidance for F6 on its pizza ovens. Follow it to the end: the last card says whether this is a visit.

01

Pull anything away from the side and rear panels, including towels, bags and stock stacked against the oven.

02

On a Single Batch, check that the rear cooling fan guards are free of lint and grease; clean them only with the oven off.

03

Keep the air around the oven reasonable; if F6 comes back with the panels clear, book a visit so the cooling fans can be checked.

What not to do

F6 does not say the food is overcooking; the cook chamber has its own overheat report, F5. It is also not a blower report for the main cooking air, which is F1.

pizza ovens.

A TurboChef call starts with the menu item that came out wrong and the recipe setting it ran on, since a rapid-cook oven follows those settings to the second.

Questions
about F6.

Can I clear F6 myself?
Pull anything away from the side and rear panels, including towels, bags and stock stacked against the oven. If it comes back, it needs a visit.
Why does my TurboChef show F6 after we moved it against a wall?
The electrical compartment breathes through the side and rear panels. Pushed tight to a wall or boxed in by supplies, it cannot pull in cool air, and F6 is the result.
Where are the cooling fans on a TurboChef Single Batch?
The manual points to the rear cooling fan exhaust guards. Wiping lint and grease off those guards with the oven off is an operator task; replacing a fan is not.
Does a hot kitchen trigger TurboChef F6?
It can add to it. TurboChef warns elsewhere that the room should not run above 100°F around the conveyor, so a hot line plus a blocked panel is a common pairing.

Back to your everyday

Still showing F6?

A booking with a code goes further when it has the code copied as shown, the model and serial from the rating plate, and a note on whether the oven still lights, heats or moves its belt. With those three, the office can match the likely part to your oven the same day.
