What Kingwood does
to a pizza oven.

It was founded in 1970 on land partly owned by the Foster Lumber Company, and its first village opened in 1971.

Kingwood had only a few thousand residents in 1976, and most of its neighborhoods, called villages, have their own pool, playground and elementary school.

Most of the community lies in Harris County, with a small portion reaching into Montgomery County.

Newer developments

Planned streets fill with families who bought backyard pizza ovens in the same few seasons, and ovens of one age share their weak spots, so a technician who replaces a cracked floor tile on one street often sees the same wear two doors down.

Family houses

Family backyards often put the pizza oven near where children play, and its door, flue and outer shell get very hot, so a clear zone around the oven and closing the gas at the end of the night are the simplest safeguards.

Backyard pizza nights

A pizza oven built onto a masonry base traps heat beneath its floor, and without openings in that base the burner valve and igniter module cook along with the pizza, which is why a failing valve there prompts a look at the base's airflow.

When a pizza oven
cannot wait in Kingwood.

In Kingwood as anywhere, these four put whoever stands at the oven's mouth, and the building around the flue, at risk, and they mean the gas or the power stays off until we arrive: a gas smell at the oven or its supply line, flame escaping the mouth or showing behind the panel or up the chimney, a hot electrical or burning smell, and smoke that fills the room instead of leaving by the flue.
