The inside of a cold commercial deck oven in a pizzeria with its door open, the pizza oven's stone deck bare and a thin steel temperature probe visible along the back wall, nobody at the oven.

What F7
actually means.

An RTD changes its electrical resistance with heat, and the control turns that into the temperature on the display. When the reading is missing or impossible, the oven shows F7. TurboChef gives one cause, damaged or defective oven components, and one remedy: service.

What to do when F7 shows on the pizza oven

Before you book,
in this order.

Each step comes from TurboChef's own guidance for F7 on its pizza ovens. Follow it to the end: the last card says whether this is a visit.

01

Turn the oven off and note what it was doing when F7 appeared, such as warming up, mid-bake or after cleaning.

02

Do not keep restarting it to get through a shift; without a valid reading the heat cannot be controlled.

03

Book a visit so the sensor, its wiring and the connector at the board can be tested.

What not to do

F7 is not a low or high temperature report, which TurboChef shows as F2 or F5. A display set to Celsius can look wrong but does not raise F7.

Questions
about F7.

Can I clear F7 myself?
Turn the oven off and note what it was doing when F7 appeared, such as warming up, mid-bake or after cleaning. If it comes back, it needs a visit.
What is the RTD in a TurboChef conveyor?
It is the temperature sensor for the cook chamber. The control reads its resistance to know how hot the air is, so a failed RTD leaves the oven blind.
Is there anything I can reset for TurboChef F7?
The manual offers no operator fix for F7, only service. Turning the oven off and booking a visit is the right move.
Can a loose connection cause F7 on an HhC?
Yes, a damaged wire or connector reads the same to the control as a dead sensor. A technician tests both before replacing the RTD.

Still showing F7?

A booking with a code goes further when it has the code copied as shown, the model and serial from the rating plate, and a note on whether the oven still lights, heats or moves its belt. With those three, the office can match the likely part to your oven the same day.
