What Er7
actually means.

The controller opens and closes the gas through a solenoid valve. Er7 appears when the connection to that valve is disconnected or broken during operation, so the controller can no longer command the gas. Fontana's fix is to check the valve's wiring or replace the valve.

What to do when Er7 shows on the pizza oven

Before you book,
in this order.

Each step comes from Fontana Forni's own guidance for Er7 on its pizza ovens. Follow it to the end: the last card says whether this is a visit.

01

Hold the power button for three seconds to switch off, then close the valve on the propane cylinder.

02

Unplug the 12-volt adapter and leave the control panel closed.

03

Book a visit; the valve and its wiring sit behind the panel, next to the gas train.

Still there?

It usually turns into pizza oven burner and igniter repair. Book with the code and the model number.

What not to do

Er7 is an electrical connection message, not a gas leak; a smell of gas calls for the gas safety steps, not a reset. It is also different from Er3, where the valve still works but does not turn the flame down.

Where Er7 usually leads

Pizza oven burner and igniter repair.

Pizza oven burner cleared or replaced, spark electrode, hot-surface igniter or spark module · low to moderate.

Questions
about Er7.

Can I clear Er7 myself?
Hold the power button for three seconds to switch off, then close the valve on the propane cylinder. If it comes back, it needs a visit.
Can I reset Er7 on my Fontana Volta and keep cooking?
Clearing the code does not reconnect the valve. If Er7 returns on the next start, the oven should stay off until the valve wiring has been checked.
What makes the valve wire on a Fontana Volta come loose?
Heat cycles, vibration when the oven is moved on its cart and corrosion in damp weather can all loosen a connector. Fontana also asks that the display not sit in sun and rain for long periods.
Does Er7 on my Volta mean gas is leaking?
No, it reports a lost electrical connection to the valve. If you ever smell gas at the oven, close the tank, keep flames and switches away, move away and call the gas utility from a safe distance.

Still showing Er7?

A booking with a code goes further when it has the code copied as shown, the model and serial from the rating plate, and a note on whether the oven still lights, heats or moves its belt. With those three, the office can match the likely part to your oven the same day.
