A conveyor oven does not bake with a hot stone. It blows hot air at high speed through rows of metal fingers above and below the belt, each finger with holes that aim jets of air at the pie. That impingement is what browns the top and crisps the bottom in a few minutes. The air comes from blowers, heated by a burner or elements, and the fingers decide where it lands. So the bake depends on the fingers being in the right order, clean and complete, and on the blowers running at full speed. Fingers put back in the wrong slots after cleaning, a finger missing, holes blocked with baked-on cheese and flour, or a blower belt slipping change the pattern immediately. A burner firing low, a door left open, or the oven loaded faster than its heat can keep up makes it worse. The belt speed and temperature settings for each item also matter, and a change made for one product can leave another badly baked. The 6 causes, cheapest first Answer these first 01 Is one side of the belt darker than the other, or the front different from the back? 02 Were the fingers cleaned and put back recently? 03 Are any finger holes blocked with baked residue? 04 Does the blower sound weaker or different from usual? 05 Did the belt speed or temperature setting change for any item? ## Check these before you book. Conveyor oven uneven bake: 5 checks, and none of them costs anything. 01 Compare the finger arrangement with the diagram in the manual, with the oven off and cool. 02 Check that belt speed and temperature for each item match your standards. 03 Look at the finger holes for blockages when the fingers are out for cleaning. ### Also worth checking - Listen to the blowers for a weaker sound than usual and note it. - Leave the blower belts, burners and wiring alone; book when the fingers and settings are right and the bake is still uneven. ### How soon does it need a visit? An uneven bake is never an emergency. It is booked when the fingers are right, clean and the settings checked, and pies still come out patchy. ## The causes, cheapest first. 6 things conveyor oven uneven bake across the belt or from end to end turns out to be, from fingers put back in the wrong order to burner or element not giving full heat. Checking each setting against the menu's standards fixes it. No repair: check it yourself 3. 03 low ### Finger holes blocked Baked-on cheese and flour close off holes so less air reaches the pie. The fingers are soaked and cleaned as the maker describes, or on a cleaning visit. The fingers were likely put back in the wrong slots or upside down. Arranging them as the manual shows usually fixes it at once. ### How often should conveyor oven fingers be cleaned? It depends on volume, but busy stores clean them on a regular schedule. Blocked holes change the bake long before they are obvious. ### One lane bakes darker than the other. What does that mean? Uneven airflow is usual: a finger out of place, blocked holes on one side, or a blower that is weaker than its partner. ### Can a conveyor oven be adjusted for different pies? Yes, through belt speed, temperature and finger arrangement. Each change is written down so it can be set back for other items. --- **[Read on the site: Conveyor Oven Uneven Bake Across the Belt or From End to End: Causes and Fixes](https://pizzaovenrepair.center/problems/conveyor-oven-uneven-bake/)** **[Book a visit with PizzaOvenRepair.center](https://pizzaovenrepair.center/schedule/)**
