A small motor turns a drive shaft through a gearbox or a chain and sprocket, and the belt rides over rollers at both ends. When the belt stops, something in that line has given up or been blocked. A belt knocked off its sprocket, a broken link, or a pie box, pan or utensil jammed in the tunnel can stall it.
