Wood-fired Wood Stone ovens and the early radiant-flame gas ovens carry a simple temperature readout wired to a floor thermocouple. EEE or an erratic number means the thermocouple leads are reversed, loose or damaged, or the readout itself has failed. Wood Stone pizza oven display · also shown as eee What to do when EEE shows on the pizza oven ### Kind of code Temperature and sensors A probe is handing the controller a reading it cannot believe, or none at all: a deck or tunnel sensor coated in baked-on flour and grease, its lead chafed or scorched where it passes the heat, or a connector loosened by years of doors slamming. The oven then runs hot, stalls short of its setting or shuts the heat off to protect itself. Letting the oven cool and restarting it is reasonable; a sensor that still reads wrong sits behind a panel, and that is a visit. ### Usually leads to Pizza oven thermostat and control repair Thermostats calibrated or replaced, probes, timers, boards and displays repaired, so the pizza oven holds the temperature the cooks set and shows the right number. ### Shows up as Pizza Oven Error Code on a Deck, Conveyor or Rapid-Cook Display A pizza oven error code shows as letters or numbers on the display of a conveyor, deck or rapid-cook oven, a flashing light on its panel, or a message about ignition, heat, belt or airflow. ### Make Wood Stone Where a Wood Stone oven faces the dining room, the tech plans the visit around guests who can watch the hearth from their tables. ### Source Wood Stone Mountain Series and Traditional Series service manual (M0014.10) Wood-fired Mountain Series and Traditional Series ovens with a Temperature Readout Display, and pre-March 2000 and 8-foot RFG gas ovens. ## Before you book, in this order. Each step comes from Wood Stone's own guidance for EEE on its pizza ovens. Follow it to the end: the last card says whether this is a visit. 01 Keep cooking only by eye and by the fire; the readout does not control the burners on a wood-fired oven. 02 Check whether the display is also dim or blank, which points to power rather than the sensor. 03 Book a visit so the readout can be bench-checked with a jumper and the thermocouple and its plug tested. ### Still there? It usually turns into [pizza oven thermostat and control repair](https://pizzaovenrepair.center/services/pizza-oven-thermostat-and-control-repair/). Book with the code and the model number. ### What not to do EEE does not mean the oven is too hot or that the fire must be put out. On a wood-only oven the readout is the only electrical part, so the oven itself keeps working. ## What you may notice with it. The pizza oven problems EEE tends to arrive with. Keep cooking only by eye and by the fire; the readout does not control the burners on a wood-fired oven. If it comes back, it needs a visit. ### Can I still use my Wood Stone wood-fired oven when the readout shows EEE? Yes, with care. The readout only reports the floor temperature on a wood oven, so you lose the number but not the heat; judge the floor the way you would without a gauge until it is repaired. ### What causes EEE on a Wood Stone temperature readout? Reversed or loose thermocouple wires, a damaged thermocouple or plug, or a failed readout. A technician tells which by jumpering the readout. ### Why is my Wood Stone readout somewhere beside the oven? Wood Stone notes the readout is often moved next to the oven to suit the room design, so look there for the display and its transformer. --- **[Read on the site: Wood Stone EEE: the hearth readout cannot read its thermocouple](https://pizzaovenrepair.center/error-codes/wood-stone-eee/)** **[Book a visit with PizzaOvenRepair.center](https://pizzaovenrepair.center/schedule/)**
