The X-Series times its warm-up. If the oven has not preheated within 30 minutes, it raises HEATING ERROR and sounds an alarm. The manual gives three explanations: a gas supply or burner problem, or a warm-up that was interrupted part way through. Middleby Marshall pizza oven display What to do when HEATING ERROR shows on the pizza oven ### Kind of code Elements and heating The controller called for heat and the deck or the cavity did not answer in time. On an electric deck oven that is often one element burned open under a stone, a contactor whose points have pitted, or a stone cracked so the heat no longer spreads; on a gas deck or conveyor it is a burner that lights but runs starved. Closing the door fully and giving the oven its full preheat rules out the simple case; an element, a contactor or a burner is a visit, and a burning smell means the breaker off first. ### Usually leads to Deck oven element and deck repair Burned-out deck oven elements, contactors and wiring replaced, and cracked or rocking deck stones changed, so every chamber bakes evenly from front to back. ### Shows up as Pizza Oven Error Code on a Deck, Conveyor or Rapid-Cook Display A pizza oven error code shows as letters or numbers on the display of a conveyor, deck or rapid-cook oven, a flashing light on its panel, or a message about ignition, heat, belt or airflow. ### Make Middleby Marshall A Middleby Marshall conveyor call is about the line: how many pies came out right before the belt slowed, stalled or the crust went pale. ### Source Middleby Marshall X70G, X55G, X55GWB gas oven owner's operating and installation manual (78866 Rev F) X70G, X55G and X55GWB gas conveyors (78866 Rev F). The PS-series touch screen ovens do not list this message. ## Before you book, in this order. Each step comes from Middleby Marshall's own guidance for HEATING ERROR on its pizza ovens. Follow it to the end: the last card says whether this is a visit. 01 Press Dismiss to silence the alarm. 02 Turn the oven off and back on again, and let it warm without switching it off in between. 03 Check that the gas valve to the oven is open and that other gas appliances in the building are working normally. 04 If the error comes back, book a visit so the burner, gas pressure and modulating valve can be checked. ### Still there? It usually turns into [deck oven element and deck repair](https://pizzaovenrepair.center/services/deck-oven-element-and-deck-repair/). Book with the code and the model number. ### What not to do HEATING ERROR does not mean the oven is too hot; it reports a slow or failed warm-up. It is also not the normal BELT OFF message, which just holds the belt while a healthy warm-up is still under way. ## What you may notice with it. Press Dismiss to silence the alarm. If it comes back, it needs a visit. ### How long should a Middleby Marshall X55 take to preheat? The control allows 30 minutes. If the oven is not at temperature by then, it shows HEATING ERROR rather than waiting longer. ### Can switching the oven off during warm-up cause HEATING ERROR? Yes. The manual lists an interrupted warm-up as one of the causes, so a restart and an unbroken preheat is the first thing to try. ### Is HEATING ERROR the same as RESET IGNITION? No. RESET IGNITION means the burner would not light or stay lit; HEATING ERROR means the oven ran but did not get hot enough in time. --- **[Read on the site: Middleby Marshall HEATING ERROR: the conveyor did not preheat in 30 minutes](https://pizzaovenrepair.center/error-codes/middleby-marshall-heating-error/)** **[Book a visit with PizzaOvenRepair.center](https://pizzaovenrepair.center/schedule/)**
