The Pizza Oven Plus lights its hearth and log burners with spiral hot surface igniters, and they stay lit through the whole bake, even at the lowest setting. If wind or a dip in gas pressure puts the flame out, the glowing igniter lights it again. Alfresco pizza oven display · also shown as Igniter stays on What to do when Igniter keeps glowing after the burner lights shows on the pizza oven ### Kind of code Mode, not a failure No part of the oven has failed; the display is reporting a state someone chose or the oven entered on its own. A cool-down keeps the blowers turning after the heat is off until the cavity or the tunnel has dropped to a safe level, an energy save setting lets the decks sag between rushes, and a menu lock stops anyone on the line from changing the bake times. No part is needed: letting the cool-down run out, or the key sequence in the manual, brings the oven back. ### Usually leads to No repair Leave the glow alone; it is part of how the oven keeps its burners lit. ### Shows up as Pizza Oven Error Code on a Deck, Conveyor or Rapid-Cook Display A pizza oven error code shows as letters or numbers on the display of a conveyor, deck or rapid-cook oven, a flashing light on its panel, or a message about ignition, heat, belt or airflow. ### Make Alfresco An Alfresco pizza oven call begins with the gas shut and a flashlight run along the burner and the igniter tip before anyone tries a light-off. ### Source Alfresco Pizza Oven Plus AXE-PZA care and use manual (serial 18-00000 forward) Alfresco Pizza Oven Plus AXE-PZA countertop, AXE-PZA-BI built-in and cart models, serial 18-00000 forward. Each step comes from Alfresco's own guidance for Igniter keeps glowing after the burner lights on its pizza ovens. Follow it to the end: the last card says whether this is a visit. 01 Leave the glow alone; it is part of how the oven keeps its burners lit. 02 If you see the glow but no flame on the burner, turn that knob off and give the gas five minutes to clear before another attempt. 03 If a burner keeps losing its flame and relighting, move the oven so its back faces the wind, and book a visit if it keeps happening on a calm day. ### Cleared? The code has left the display, the decks or the tunnel come up to the set heat and hold it through a full service, the belt keeps its speed and the blowers run steady, all with no part changed. If the same code returns within a week, or on the next busy night, say so when you book. ### What not to do A glowing igniter during a bake does not mean the oven is overheating or that a wire is shorting. Leave the glow alone; it is part of how the oven keeps its burners lit. ### Does the Alfresco pizza oven igniter wear out faster because it stays on? Alfresco says the spiral igniters need no maintenance and burn themselves clean. What breaks them is a knock, so be careful when brushing or vacuuming near their cages. ### Why does my Alfresco pizza oven keep relighting on a windy evening? The igniter is doing its job each time the wind blows the flame out. Turning the back of the oven toward the wind usually stops the cycle. ### Is the Alfresco pizza oven igniter supposed to glow at the MIN setting? Yes. Alfresco keeps the igniter glowing at every setting, including the lowest, so it can relight a small flame that goes out. --- **[Read on the site: Alfresco pizza oven igniter glowing while the burner runs: the relight watch](https://pizzaovenrepair.center/error-codes/alfresco-igniter-glows-while-lit/)** **[Book a visit with PizzaOvenRepair.center](https://pizzaovenrepair.center/schedule/)**
